Mr. Merdan Altınöz, General Manager of Scrap Danışmanlık Inc., provided information on disposal processes to leading companies and associations in the medical device sector at the 4th “Medical Supply Chain Management Congress,” held from February 12–14, 2019 at the Susesi Luxury Resort in Antalya.

The congress, where every issue related to medical supply was addressed and problems and solutions were discussed, brought together all stakeholders of the supply chain—public sector, private sector, and academia—for the fourth time in Antalya between February 12–14. The congress emphasized that, for sustainable healthcare and financing, it is necessary to generate savings already at the procurement stage, and it was underlined that if the entire sector acts in cooperation, all problems, especially economic ones, can be overcome. The congress also pointed out that healthcare should be approached holistically, that unchanged SUT (Health Implementation Notification) prices affect all stakeholders, that the healthcare budget remains insufficient, and that delayed payments cause financial and cost-related issues for local manufacturers.

The congress, organized by Ekspoturk in collaboration with the “Health Industry Platform,” included the “Federation of All Medical Device Manufacturers and Suppliers Associations (TÜMDEF),” the “Turkish Healthcare Industry Employers’ Union (SEİS),” the “Association of Research-Based Medical Technology Manufacturers (ARTED),” the “Association of Medical Equipment Manufacturers and Representatives (SADER),” and the “Medical Clustering Platform,” and drew attention to the importance of medical supply.
